An Evening with Castle Rock

Please join us for a very special evening with Rob Diletti from the wonderful winery Castle Rock

In 2014 Rob Diletti, of Castle Rock Estate in Porongurup, Western Australia, was named first James Halliday Winemaker of the Year

Rob Diletti’s credentials as a winemaker speak for themselves.
He has been nominated in 2012 and 2019 for the “Winemaker of the Year”
(2019 to be announced) and has produce a multitude of Award-Winning wines.
 
Castle Rock Estate vineyard is nestled on the Eastern slopes of the Porongurup mountain at an altitude of 350 meters and is named after a prominent nearby landmark.
The position of the vineyard, which exposes the vines to cooling south-east breezes results in a prolonged growing season, enables the fruit to develop maximum varietal flavour and ripeness.
 
His tireless work in the Great Southern, Western Australia, has helped put the subregion of the Porongurup on the map with nothing less than world-class Rieslings. No mean feat for a small family winery.

Wine show judging has played an important part in keeping Rob in touch with current developments in the industry. He has been a regular judge at the Sydney, Perth, and Margaret River shows and is currently chair of the organising committee for the Wine Show of Western Australia.
 
Join us at Meeka for a wonderful evening of Award-Winning Riesling’s, Pinot Noir and other varieties matched with Leah Clarke’s delectable food.

 Meeka will be pairing 5 courses with 6 glasses of Castle Rock wine including a back vintage plus dessert.

Mr BARVAL Wine Dinner

Please join us for a special evening this time from a wonderful winery called
Mr Barval from Margaret River.


Before establishing his own winery in Margaret River, Robert Gherardi has wonderful credentials in the wine industry as working with the best. Moss Wood, Cullen, Brown Hill. He also did vintages in his family origins of Italy in Valtellina of Northern Lombardy then in the Barolo region. All three regions having different technics have shaped his winemaking.
The philosophy behind our wines and driving our decisions for them is a very classical and traditional one. We are focused on the classic varieties of Margaret River – Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. We are aiming to produce the wines in a very traditional, old world manner to allow for their own individual voices to be heard most clearly, not to be the bearers of a heavy winery fingerprint. Meeka will be pairing 6 courses with 6 glasses of Mr Barval wine including a glass of special Vermouth with dessert.
The wines include Chardonnay, Nebbiolo, Cab Merlot and more, will be matched with customised plates created by Head Chef and Owner Leah Clarke. Such as Mushroom Chestnut Soup, Local Whiting, Wood Fired Capretto, and to finish one of Leah's delicious dessert.

Silverstream Dinner

Meeka Wine Dinner with Silverstream

Following the success of our last wine dinner with Mazza Wines which was sold out,
please join us for another special evening this time from a wonderful winery called
Silverstream from Denmark.

In late 2004, Tony Ruse and his wife Felicity purchased the Silverstream property in Denmark. The property is located at the western end of the Bennet Ranges, enjoying both elevation and maritime influence. The vineyard is situated on either side of a valley, with the Chardonnay and Riesling sharing the north facing slope and the Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Franc on the south facing slope
Tony in 2009 adopted a biological farming process in place of conventional Viticulture. His viticultural techniques are now embracing natural inputs with excellent results in soil biology and diversity. They minimise the use of chemicals to enhance the natural processes producing healthy vines and quality fruit. 

The wines will be matched with customised plates created by Head Chef and Owner Leah Clarke, Such as Coconut Prawns to start, Duck Breast with Cherries, Wood Fired Beef Cheeks and finishing with a special Meeka dessert.

Meeka will be pairing 4 courses plus dessert with 8 glasses of Silverstream's finest, including back vintages.

.Join us at Meeka for a Mother’s Day high tea with a difference!
Take Mum on a culinary journey around the world with a mouthwatering array of savoury & sweet indulgences from exotic Turkey, Morocco and France that are sure to make her (and her taste-buds) happy! 
Our very special Mother’s Day high tea will include Moroccan pastries, macarons and scones, all with a Meeka
twist. And
of course, our famous doughnuts filled with Turkish Delight and topped with Persian fairy-floss will also be on the menu.
 A glass of Borgoluce 'Lampo' Prosecco will greet you on arrival, with a tea (including Moroccan mint
tea) or coffee served with your high tea.

 We can cater for smaller groups as well as larger long table parties.

Mazza Wine Night

Please join us for a very special evening with the sensational David Mazza from Mazza Wines in Donnybrook.  
Mazza Wines is a family-run vineyard that specialises in Spanish & Portuguese wines, with six Iberian
red grape varieties that include the much-loved Bastardo variety. The vineyard is the only planting of its kind in the Geographe Region, and is a firm favourite with wine critics from all over Australia.
 
The vineyard’s other red grape varieties include Graciano, Tempranillo, Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional, and
Sousão.
 
The wines will be matched with customised plates created by Meeka Restaurant’s head chef, Leah Clarke.
Such as Prawns to start, Duck Parfait, Spatchcock Roulade, Wood Fire Lamb and to finish one of Leah's delicious dessert to match David's very unique dessert wine.
 
Mazza Wines’ plantings have been inspired by travels through Spain and Portugal and the fantastic wines of
Rioja and the Douro Valley. David Mazza is proud to produce an Australian
translation of th
ese Old World heritage varieties, and he is believed to be the only Australian producer to present this collection from a single site.

On the 26th October at the Brisbane Convention Centre, Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Association held the National awards.

Meeka Restaurant won the title of BEST Speciality Restaurant in Australia and received the:

STATE WINNER (specialty) Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence 2015

Last night at the Perth Convention Centre the Restaurant and Catering Association held the annual state awards and again we won the state award for best restaurant in the Specialty category. That's 5 YEARS in a row.

On behalf of all my staff and Adrian who is behind the scene ( my partner) I would like to thank you all for being a customer of Meeka as without you we would not be in business.

I would also like to thank all my staff as without them we could not provide you with the service and without Leah and her Chefs we couldn't produce all the delightful food.

And lastly I would like to say a special thank you to Adrian for providing us the background support.
