Leah Clarke – head chef
It’s fair to say that each time you taste one of Leah’s creations, it’s like taking a short holiday to a foreign land. Though like a mini Middle Eastern experience, Leah cannot forget about her West Australian roots, hence her passion for creating food that touches both lands.
To quench her curiosity and passion for Middle Eastern cuisine Leah has travelled extensively. She has worked in restaurants around Western Australia and in Melbourne. As head chef, she has been creating globe-trotting wonders at Meeka since it opened.
Navneet Singh - wine maker sommelier
Navneet Singh is a leading winemaker and consultant with extensive experience throughout Europe and Australasia. Active in the Australian wine industry for over fifteen years, Nav provides professional wine consultancy and practical solutions in winemaking, viticulture and wine business management.
Meeka is the enticing, flavour-packed collision of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and an adventurous Australian spirit. Hearty tajines, served in traditional clay pots, are created with the best of fresh and local ingredients. Flavours can be subtle or robust but always have an emphasis on the harmonious combination for each dish.
Naturally, Meeka’s dishes are designed for sharing. Be warned, you might just be hard pressed to move the conversation on from the flavours dancing on your tongue.
